Mitchell Pearce is the energy behind Canberra Urban Honey. Sporting a mohawk hairstyle Mitch is Australia's youngest urban commercial beekeeper. In his first year of urban beekeeping Mitch produced the first urban honey to ever receive an agricultural excellence award in the National Honey Show at the Royal Sydney Easter Show. Mitch has a strong connection with bees and a deep understanding of beekeeping thanks to his knowledge and experience as a fourth generation beekeeper. His passion is to help make Canberra a thriving, sustainable city and he is a regular speaker on all things bees and honey. Mitch is the Vice-President of the ACT Beekeepers Association and an active member of the NSW Apiarist Association.
Carmen and Todd are third generation beekeepers. They founded Canberra Urban Honey as a community project with the goal of increasing the number of bees in Canberra. Carmen and Todd now mentor and advise Mitch as Canberra Urban Honey continues to develop and evolve. Carmen and Todd are also involved in the wider family beekeeping business and spend large amounts of time in rural NSW. Their passion is to help people understand the world of bees and Australian beekeeping, particularly the differences between beekeeping in Australia compared with the rest of the world. Carmen advocates for the Australian Beekeeping industry by writing a regular beekeeping blog.
